Context & Concrete Constraints
I designed the landing page and core product interface for Veridian, a finance automation platform for hotel operations. The product replaces manual reconciliation and billing work with an AI-driven system, and my job was making that pitch land visually before a hotel finance team ever touches the actual dashboard.
Financial automation is easy to describe and hard to make feel trustworthy at a glance. The landing page needed to carry a lot of dense information, reconciliation rates, cash flow numbers, integration logos, without turning into a wall of stats nobody reads past the hero section.
Key Engineering & Design Decisions
02.1
Dark UI as a trust signal, not just a style choice
Hotel finance tools live in spreadsheets and beige enterprise software. A dark, teal-accented interface signals this is a modern operational tool, not another accounting portal, before a single word gets read.
02.2
Numbers get a hierarchy, not just a font size
The reconciliation panel puts the outcome ($18,750 cash flow impact, 85% recovery rate) in the largest type, with the supporting detail (unresolved cases, per-property breakdown) a full step down. The eye lands on the result first, the mechanism second.
02.3
The 30-day timeline exists to lower the perceived risk of switching
Finance teams don't adopt new systems easily. Laying out Day 1, Day 5, and Day 30 as a concrete path, rather than a vague "get started" promise, turns "will this actually work for us" into a specific, checkable plan.
